The Sooner You Effectively Intervene, The Better Chance Your Child Has For Success Children who are having school or other life difficulties on the primary grade level (elementary and middle school) are at greater risk for long-term academic, emotional, social and substance abuse problems. Early intervention is the key to helping these children. Research indicates that parenting strategies that create an understanding, supportive and disciplined home environment (implemented at the earliest possible age), give these children the best chance of success.
Strength for Change Counseling and Self Development Center is providing a two and a half hour workshop (free of charge) designed for parents of children who are experiencing school or other life difficulties. Parents will learn information that enables them to better understand their child’s difficulties (and related needs) and to discipline their child in a manner that teaches life skills, encourages responsibility and promotes a family atmosphere of respect and cooperation. In addition, parents will be provided with resources for obtaining additional information and support.
